Human resource management is the department in an organization that takes care of people management. This is an umbrella term that encompasses recruitment, hiring, onboarding, ongoing management, and off-boarding of employees. From sourcing applicants to reducing redundancy in employees, human resource management also takes care of employee requests for vacation time, leaves, and complaints. Human resource management may also include employee engagement programs and improving employee retention.
